Youth Programs

Joint Base Andrews Youth Programs offers a well-rounded wide range of activities in sports, instructional classes, social programs, before & after school care and summer day camp programs for youth and teens. The facility encompasses 4 classrooms, STEAM Center of Innovation two computer labs, dance studio, movie theater, concessions, table games, dedicated space for teens, a lounge, an indoor gymnasium and outdoor basketball court.

The center is open to eligible youth year round, except Federal Holidays. The annual membership fee for open recreation is $60 for youth/teens ages 5-18 years; for non-members a fee of $2 per visit.  Fee based instructional classes include dance, taekwondo, gymnastics and piano. Team sports in basketball, softball, baseball; soccer, cheerleading, and flag football are also offered for a fee based on age and member/non-member status. Some sports specialty camps are sometimes offered free of charge.

We are affiliated with Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) and 4-H and offer a wide variety of their programs daily, weekly and monthly. Through these organizations and Air Force Youth Programs we strive to make an impact by promoting youth development life skills, healthy lifestyles, academic success and good character and leadership. Parents are always encouraged to become involved in our program as volunteers to help us meet and exceed our goals.

Joint Base Andrews STEAM COI was established in June of 2015 with the funding of a $65,000 grant from the Boys and Girls Club of America and their partnership with Raytheon. The JB Andrews STEAM COI provides youth ages 5-18 the opportunity to participate in activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Youth can become engaged in science experiments, robotics, designing architectural structures, learning to fly or figuring out mathematical equations. The STEAM COI consist of 3-D printer, flight simulator, high tech tablets and an array of DIY (do it yourself) projects.

All Youth Programs are drug, tobacco, and alcohol free.

Parent Advisory Board

We encourage parent involvement at the centers. There is a Parent Advisory Committee established to further the connection between home, your child, the center, and the classroom. Meetings are held quarterly. There is an open door policy in place welcoming parents to visit at any time throughout the day. For more information, please stop by the front desk.
