Deployment & Family Readiness
Please remember to contact your Unit Deployment Manager (UDM) or M&FRC for questions concerning all deployment briefings. All briefings are conducted virtually via Zoom. Please use this link to sign up: jba-deployment.timetap.
Deployment Assistance Program
The M&FRC offers information, education, and support services to individuals, families, and the community during deployments, contingencies, and emergencies. Personal and Family Readiness programs help families to be self-sufficient if military members are away on deployments or temporary duty. The M&FRC offers briefings and events to support the service members and their families.
Required Deployment Readiness Touchpoints
In accordance with DAFI 36-3009, Military & Family Readiness Centers, M&FRCs shall provide Pre-Deployment and Reintegration briefings to all personnel particularly those tasked with a firm deployment of 30+ days (between 60 and 30 days) prior to departure. Pre-Deployment: Your Pre-Deployment briefing must be completed 60 days prior to deployment. Pre-deployment briefings are offered bi-weekly.
Reintegration: Completion of your Reintegration briefing is mandatory in order to take R&R. Reintegration is offered weekly.
Deployment Programs & Services
Morale Call
- Calls may be placed from anywhere worldwide to the Joint Base Andrews operator, (301) 981-1110 (Commercial); this includes calls made to/from the deployed member. DSN info: 858-1110 (DSN); CONUS DSN Country code: 312.
- This service is available 24/7.
- There is no limit to the number of calls that are allowed to a military member or DoD civilian member serving a remote tour or are deployed/TDY for over 14 days.
- When speaking to the operator, state that your call is a Hearts Apart or Morale call and give your name and the military member’s DSN number (DSN number must be provided by the military member initially).
- Calls are limited to 15 minutes in length. Once the call ends after 15 minutes, you may call right back if you would like to continue the conversation.
- The member placing the call to the service member does not need to be on an authorized list (this includes – but is not limited to – spouses, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles or significant others).
- Official Duty calls take precedence.
Hearts Apart Program

Hearts Apart is sponsored by the Joint Base Andrews Military and Family Readiness Center, for military, Department of Defense civilians and family members who are, will be or have been separated because of military commitments (deployments, frequent missions, temporary duties, remote tours).
Services offered include on-base and off-base resource information, personal support and group activities.

Child Care for Deployment and Reintegration
- Air Force Aid Society provides assistance with the child care costs for active-duty Air Force and Space Force families under the GPAB program. The purpose of this program is to offer eligible parents a few hours break from the stresses of parenting. Families may use this time to suit their personal needs.
- Eligible members with a GPAB certificate will apply through the AFAS Member Portal at: https://portal.afas.org and receive funding directly into designated bank account via Zelle or ACH to pay for the allowable child care.
- AFAS will provide $40 per dependent child a month for up to 3-months to eligible members with a GPAB certificate of eligibility at:
•The base Child Development/Youth Center offering a monthly GPAB event and aminimum of 8 children attending.
•A Family Child Care (FCC) provider home at assigned installation.
•Day Care Center or Day Care Provider of your choosing (on or off the installation).
Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC)
MFLC’s offer confidential, one-on-one or family counseling to assists members and their families in coping with military and family life issues. They assist clients BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
