Education Center
Education & Training Center
The Education and Training section provides base-level education and training support to the “Total Force.”
The education office oversees authorization of over 4 million dollars in tuition assistance funding for degrees of higher education.
Primary programs include Community College of the Air Force student advisement, academic and vocational guidance/counseling from basic skills to graduate level, and DoD Skillbridge program guidance.
Other education opportunities include Air Force COOL, Education Deferments, Montgomery and Post-9/11 GI Bill and commissioning programs guidance, Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Managing Your (MY) Education workshop, and the AF Institute of Technology.
The office acts as a focal point to enroll in Intermediate and Senior Development Education (IDE/SDE) via correspondence.
The testing program includes tests for college credit, undergraduate college admissions, certification tests, and civilian and formal military testing.
The office oversees and coordinates the activities and programs of four (4) institutions of higher learning which offer 35 degree programs on base.

SkillBridge
Airmen and Guardians who are interested in participating in the SkillBridge program must complete an initial SkillBridge briefing to be made eligible to apply in AFVEC. Members assigned to Joint Base Andrews can sign up for upcoming briefings on the Education Center Events Calendar in AFVEC. Members are encouraged to attend this briefing early in their transition planning process.

Military Training
The Military Testing Office conducts Airman promotion testing, Professional Military Education Testing, upgrade testing, foreign language proficiency testing and other military and civilian testing.
All CDC EOC’s must be coordinated by the Unit Training Manager to Base Training through the following Org Box: 316fss.baseandformal.training@us.af.mil

Formal Training
Formal Training is the OPR for all TDY-to-school matters.
Military Testing
The Military Testing Office conducts Airman promotion testing, foreign language proficiency and other military testing.
National Testing Center
Sponsored by University of Maryland Global Campus, the National Testing Center administers electronic testing for the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), Prometric’s DSST Examination Program.
