Climb & Yoga Day

Find your balance on the wall and the mat! Join Outdoor Recreation for a restorative yet energizing day at Movement Columbia, Maryland’s premier indoor climbing and yoga facility. Start with a guided yoga session to warm up, stretch, and tune the body for movement. Then transition onto the climbing walls where certified instructors will lead you through beginner friendly climbs or challenge you with progressive routes, your choice! This is perfect for beginners (no experience required), wellness-focused participants, families and friends, anyone wanting a fun, low-pressure intro to climbing. This includes 1-hour guided yoga class, 1.5-hour indoor climbing session, all gear, professional instruction and transportation. *This program is open to ages 13+.

Trip Itinerary:

8:45am: Meet at Joint Base Andrews Outdoor Recreation (1235 Menoher Drive) Please arrive on time.

9:00am-10:00am: Drive to Movement Gym

10:00am-11:30am: 90 Minute Indoor Rock Climb

11:30am-12:30pm: 60 Minute Yoga Class

12:30pm-1:00pm: Wrap Up and Load Bus

1:00pm-2:00pm: Drive back to JBA ODR

 

Eligibility:

All active-duty military, including reserves and national guard, DoD employees, their dependents and up to five additional non-military affiliated guests are welcome to participate in any Outdoor Adventure Program.

 

Caution:

Participants should understand that both yoga and indoor rock climbing involve inherent physical risks, even when proper instruction, supervision, and safety measures are in place. Yoga may include risks such as muscle strains, joint stress, loss of balance, dizziness, or aggravation of pre-existing conditions, particularly if poses are attempted beyond oneโ€™s physical limits. Indoor rock climbing carries additional risks, including falls, slips, impact injuries, sprains, strains, cuts, bruises, overexertion, and discomfort related to harnesses or equipment. By participating, individuals acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all safety instructions, use equipment properly, listen to their bodies, and immediately report any discomfort, injury, or concerns to staff.
