Mother’s Day Horseback Ride

A beautiful Experience Mom will never forget. Treat mom to something truly special this Mother’s Day with a guided horseback trail ride across two stunning Southern Maryland farms, complete with a relaxing sit-down lunch at Ape Hangers Bar & Grill.ย  This 3-3.5 hour adventure begins at Southern Grace Farm, where you’ll saddle up for a scenic ride through rolling fields, wooded paths, and quiet farm roads. Midway through the journey, riders will dismount for a delicious lunch ordered directly from the menu, then continue the ride through a neighboring farm before returning to Southern Grace. No experience required. Includes Gear, Transportation, Instruction, Trail Ride, and Lunch. *This program is open to ages 10+. Must Not Exceed 300 lbs. and/or 6โ€™5.โ€

Trip Itinerary:

7:45am: Meet at Joint Base Andrews Outdoor Recreation (1235 Menoher Drive) Please arrive on time.

8:00am-9:00am: Drive to Southern Grace Farm

9:00am-12:00pm: Guide Instruction and Lunch

12:00pm-12:30pm: Wrap Up and Load Bus

12:30pm-3:30pm: Drive back to JBA ODR

 

Eligibility:

All active-duty military, including reserves and national guard, DoD employees, their dependents and up to five additional non-military affiliated guests are welcome to participate in any Outdoor Adventure Program.

 

Caution:

Participants acknowledge that horseback riding is an inherently hazardous activity involving unpredictable animals and changing environmental conditions, and that risks cannot be eliminated even with proper supervision, trained staff, and safety procedures. These risks may include, but are not limited to, falls from the horse, sudden movements, loss of balance, collisions with natural or fixed objects, uneven terrain, insect bites, allergic reactions, muscle strains, sprains, bruises, cuts, dehydration, fatigue, and aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions. Horses may react unexpectedly to sounds, weather, wildlife, or other stimulus, which may increase the risk of injury. By choosing to participate, individuals voluntarily assume these risks, agree to follow all safety instructions, wear required protective equipment, ride within their physical abilities, and immediately report any discomfort, unsafe conditions, or injuries to staff.
