Whitewater Rafting

Pick One of the Two Options Below:

Option 1 – Family Friendly Fun! *Must be minimum 7 years old and 50lb and up. Join us for whitewater rafting on the final stretches of the Shenandoah River as it tumbles into the Potomac, carving a spectacular 6.5- mile watercourse through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy a riverside snack of a granola bar, apple squeeze or fruit, and drink while relaxing with family and friends. Will spend approximately 3 – 4 hours on the river.

Option 2 – *Must be reasonably physically fit, 12 years old and weigh between 90-250 lbs. Class III whitewater on an inflatable kayak, also called a Ducky! These maneuverable craft allow for a more intense, personal experience with the river and afford the freedom of an open-top boat; if you fall off, you flip it over and hop back on.  Will spend approximately 3 – 4 hours on the river.

Cost:

  • ADULT (13 & up) $143.00 per person

  • YOUTH (12 & under) $138.00 per person

 

Eligibility: Active-Duty Military, Dependents, Military Retirees, Veterans, and DOD Civilians. *Must have base access.

Included in this trip is Transportation, River Side Snack, approximately 3 – 4 hours on the river.

(ODR/ITT MUST secure a minimum number of participants two weeks before the trip date. There are limited spots on all trips. Space is on a first come, first serve basis.)

 

*To participate in an ODR/ITT activity, you must meet the following essential eligibility criteria:

  • Understand risks: Understand the risks of the activity and review all pre-trip documents.
  • Meet physical demands: Be able to meet the physical demands of the trip, including mileage, trail conditions, and sleeping arrangements.
  • Withstand environmental factors: Be able to withstand environmental factors like temperature extremes, exposure to the sun, wind, precipitation, and water crossings.
  • Communicate effectively: Be able to communicate effectively with guides and staff, especially in case of an emergency.
  • Follow directions: Be able to understand and follow directions from guides to avoid hazards.
  • Manage personal care: Be able to manage personal care independently or with some assistance.

All patrons must register and pay at the Outdoor Recreation Bldg. 1235 Menoher Dr NO LATER THAN the specified sign-up deadline listed above (ODR/ITT MUST secure a minimum number of participants two weeks before the trip date. There are limited spots on all trips. Space is on a first come, first serve basis.)
